Don’t Leave God’s Word Behind When the Meeting Ends.

“…And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.” — John 4:50 (KJV)

There is something beautiful about the encounter between Jesus and a father whose son was seriously ill.

The man came to Jesus desperately seeking a miracle for his dying son.

But Jesus simply spoke:

“Go thy way; thy son liveth.” — John 4:50

The man believed what Jesus said and began his journey home.

He did not insist that Jesus accompany him or demand to see the miracle before believing.

He carried the Word Jesus had spoken, even before receiving any confirmation about his son’s condition.

Later, his servants met him with the wonderful news that his son was alive. When he asked when the recovery had begun, he discovered that it happened at the very hour Jesus had spoken.

The authority belonged to Jesus. The father responded by trusting His Word.

The Word was not left behind where Jesus spoke it. The man carried it into his journey.

This reminds me of my personal testimony.

There was a season when I suffered from severe, chronic back pain. I visited doctors and hospitals and underwent medical examinations and tests, but the pain continued.

During that time, I began meditating on Scriptures about healing and what Jesus had accomplished for me through His finished work.

But my meditation was not limited to prayer meetings or church services.

While eating, I meditated on the Word.

While travelling, I meditated and confessed the Word.

While walking outside, my thoughts returned to Jesus.

Even during my time in the washroom, I continued meditating on and confessing God’s Word.

In the ordinary moments of my day, my attention kept returning to Jesus and His promises.

And gradually, I realised something wonderful.

My back pain had completely disappeared!

I give Jesus all the glory for the healing I experienced.

But here is what I want you to understand from my testimony:

The Word had become part of my everyday life, not merely something I heard during a church meeting.

Many times, we hear a powerful message on Sunday. We rejoice, say “Amen,” and return home encouraged.

But what happens when the meeting ends?

Does the Word accompany us into Monday, into our work, our homes, and our daily responsibilities?

Or do we leave it behind at the church?

Jesus said:

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you…” — John 15:7 (KJV)

Notice the word ABIDE.

Jesus desires His Word to remain in us, not merely visit us occasionally.

The Word we hear on Sunday should continue shaping our thoughts throughout the week.

We can meditate while cooking, travelling, walking, resting, or carrying out our everyday responsibilities.

Meditation is not merely an activity for a particular hour. It can become a way of living with God’s Word continually in our hearts.

And remember, the power is not in how many times we repeat a verse. The power belongs to Jesus and His Word. We meditate and confess His Word because we believe Him and desire to remain established in His truth.

✨ Beloved, don’t leave God’s Word where you heard it. Carry it into the ordinary hours of your life. Let the Scriptures you receive in church, prayer, or personal study accompany you into your home, workplace, travels, and quiet moments. Whether you are waiting for healing, restoration, an answer, or the fulfilment of a promise, keep returning to what Jesus has spoken. Allow the Holy Spirit to deepen your understanding and strengthen your confidence in Him. Continue receiving the help and care you need while trusting Jesus. Give His Word a permanent home in your heart, and let it shape the way you think, speak, and live.

Hear the Word.

Believe the Word.

Carry the Word.

Meditate on the Word.

Confess the Word.

And walk in the Word.

The nobleman carried Jesus’ Word before receiving the report of his son’s healing.

And I experienced the preciousness of carrying God’s Word through the ordinary moments of my life.

DON’T LEAVE THE WORD WHERE YOU HEARD IT.

CARRY IT INTO EVERY ORDINARY HOUR OF YOUR LIFE.
